We are a member of Provisiogas, which administers functions associated with compulsory stocks of natural gas on behalf of the Federal Council as provided for by the Federal Act on National Economic Supply.

History
An overview of our key milestones:
1 October 2018
Import of gas from Italy via PSV begins.
1 July 2018
OpenEP moves its business premises to central Zurich. Leaving the Erdgas Ostschweiz premises symbolises our position as an independent service provider.
23 January 2018
The online marketplace for energy transactions begins commercial operations. Customers are now able to directly buy and sell or place orders.
1 December 2017
We gain access to the PSV Italy exchange.
1 November 2017
We gain access to the PEG-Nord France exchange.
28 September 2017
OpenEP becomes a reseller of Energie 360°, thus expanding its business to biogas.
1 April 2016
Rudolf Summermatter becomes CEO, replacing Ernst Tschannen who goes into retirement.
1 October 2015
Erdgas Ostschweiz AG divests its Purchase and Trading department and Open Energy Platform AG begins as an independent natural gas procurement company. Its comprehensive services allow it to respond to ongoing development in market requirements.
1 October 2014
In response to the imminent deregulation of the natural gas market, the owners of Erdgas Ostschweiz AG decide to unbundle its grid operations and energy procurement at both an operational and legal level. The objective is create a strong centre of excellence for natural gas procurement and trading as well as all associated services.
